About MWAG ─ a Brief Introduction & Overview of the Group

Is a Career in Shelter Work Right for You?

'Do you believe in working to end violence against women and children? Have you ever considered working in the violence against women field? Do you have experience or education that would be considered applicable to our work? Do you consider yourself to be well-versed in the areas of feminism, anti-racism/anti-oppression, and harm reduction?

MWAG occasionally seeks staff who are able to work on an as-needed basis. Feel free to submit your resume via fax to: +1 (705) 645-1407 or via mail to: Muskoka Women's Advocacy Group, P.O. Box 748, Bracebridge, ON P1L 1T9’

The Natalie Novak Fund

"The Natalie Novak Fund for Education and Prevention of Relationship Violence began within months of Natalie's death in May 2006. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, contributions to our local women's shelter, Muskoka Interval House, were encouraged and appreciated. The response from family, friends, and community was strong.

The staff and board of directors for Muskoka Interval House voted to commit the new funds to education initiatives in June 2006. The Natalie Novak Fund for Education and Prevention of Relationship Violence (NNF) was established." (Taken directly from the NNF website).
Please visit the new Natalie Novak Fund website.

Muskoka Women's Advocacy Group would like to thank our volunteers for giving so generously of their time and energy to help women and children in our communities.

If you're interested in volunteering, weekly grocery shoppers are currently needed at Muskoka Interval House (MIH) in Bracebridge, as well as childcare assistants and drivers for both MIH and Chrysalis in Huntsville. Volunteer training will be provided.

If you are able to help, please contact Ruth Holloway for details:
